OK there are lots of things going on at Violet Flamingo at the minute. I’ve been a bit slack keeping up with the blog but with new website coming soon I thought I best get into the habit of keeping you lovely people updated.
I have a varied selection of brides booked in for this Summer, some with a traditional 1950’s feel, some with something a bit more unusual and one particular bride that the guest just won’t expect! This is obviously top-secret but watch this space it’ll be amazing.
I have other clients in like Mother of the bride, Mother of the groom, proms and just people who want some pretty dresses in their wardrobe. Last week I cut out fourteen dresses for three of my clients. All of these are beautiful summer weight cotton prints. I’ll be adding pictures of these as they come together.
This is the latest shoot by Violet Flamingo, my wardrobe is ridiculous. Over the years I have made myself some lovely pieces and the real shame is some of these have only been worn once. I decided to get a small selection together and get them photographed on a model a similar size to myself. There are ten final images for this sneaky peek into my wardrobe and the others will follow on the new website.
Another shoot that came together in a couple of weeks, I always love out-of-place glamour. Me and Tom thought Hebden Bridge could have some good potential, Gemma is always up for any shoot that’s a little different, think the see through dress feeding the ducks was defiantly an unusual experience for a Saturday afternoon.
Personally I like the feeling when I’m all dresses up and no one else is, it doesn’t bother me one bit, to quote the Whim Wham Club in Manchester-
‘I’m not in fancy dress, I just like to dress fancy’
I’ve been very busy recently doing more shoots in preparation for the website. This shoot was for the dresses I contributed to the Colouredge exhibition and shot within Ebor Studio where I’m based. More pictures to follow but you’ll have to wait for the new website x
